  18. <p>     London's smash hit Miss Saigon will open on Broadway next
  19. April, but the musical is already striking discordant notes
  20. along the Great White Way. Asian-American actors object to
  21. Caucasian Jonathan Pryce's taking on the starring role of a
  22. Eurasian character. They are urging the producers to
  23. reconsider, even though Pryce has won raves in the West End.
  24. In a satiric number praising the American dream, Pryce sings,
  25. "Luck by the tail/ How can you fail?" It's an ironic question
  26. for Asian-American actors, who see the casting as a throwback
  27. to the "yellow-face" days of Charlie Chan.
